SECTORS WE WORK WITH

GE Consulting offer a wide range of ecological and arboricultural services across multiple sectors.

PUBLIC SECTOR

GE Consulting work for an array of government agencies and departments including national organisation such as the Environment Agency, as well as at a local level assisting local authorities on major redevelopment proposals.

We also work for County Councils with experience of working on numerous health care and school developments as well as key infrastructure projects.

UTILITIES

GE Consulting have a strong background in the utilities sector having recently been awarded a ninth successive annual contract by National Grid Electricity Division (previously Western Power Distribution) to advise on  ecological matters across all of their regions that cover the Midlands, south Wales and the south west of England.

Services include survey work for new and existing infrastructure, advice and representation with statutory bodies, assistance with design and delivery of training and policy, ecological clerks of the works and protected species licensing.

GE are also working with NGED on an exciting and far reaching project to assess their land holdings nationwide for potential BNG uplifts that can be secured by the organisation to both improve their environmental credentials and assist with their own planning requirements.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

GE Consulting have strong current experience of large (NSIP) and small scale renewable energy schemes including projects located in sensitive locations.

Having spent several years working on delivering a 50MW solar scheme in South Wales that is located entirely on SSSI land and adjacent to an SPA and RAMSAR site, we have a deep knowledge of the associated complications and policy led arguments that are presented by such schemes.

We also have recent experience of wind turbine applications varying from a single turbine to multiple large turbine schemes and sometimes in conjunction with other renewable sources.

With in-house ability to conduct all the relevant survey work, data analysis including collision risk modelling and associated consultation and reporting, GE Consulting are well placed to assist throughout the planning process on any renewable energy project.

COMMERCIAL

GE Consulting have experience of working on a variety of commercial schemes across the south of England including new industrial parks, major distribution facilities, retail and tourism venues including hotels, campsites and eco-friendly glamping schemes.

With strong knowledge of local planning policy and good relationships with LPA officers we are well placed to help you deliver your scheme whilst considering all relevant ecological and arboricultural matters.

RESIDENTIAL

GE Consulting carry out ecology surveys and tree surveys to assist housing developers with site promotion, design input, gaining planning permission & associated licences, discharging related planning conditions as well as working with them through the construction phase and the on-going management of the site.

Project experience varies from single unit barn conversions for private developers to large scale developments triggering EIA for national house builders. We currently work on over 250 different residential schemes a year across the south of England and south Wales with clients including multiple national and regional house builders, housing associations and private developers.
